Press Release

On Thursday morning just after 6 a.m., as the result of a joint investigation, Law Enforcement Officials from the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Helper City Police and Price City Police served a search warrant at 390 North 100 East, the Thomas Sanchez residence. The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team made the initial entry into the home, employing techniques to overcome the barricaded residence. The S.W.A.T. safely took Sanchez and a female companion into custody.

Thomas Albert Sanchez, DOB 9-26-84, of Price was arrested on a federal warrant resulting from alleged events occurring in January of 2016 at the same residence. Today, Mr. Sanchez was allegedly found to be in possession of a large sum of cash and a shotgun, and potentially faces new federal charges relating to those seizures. The female companion was questioned and released.

Sanchez was temporarily held at the Carbon County Jail pending transfer to the U.S. Marshals for his initial federal appearance.

Sanchez has three prior arrests with one assault conviction.
