Raptors Take Part in Green River Invitational

The Price American Legion Raptors went 0-3 over the weekend at the Green River, Wyo. Invitational. The Raptors lost to Riverton, Steamboat Springs and Douglas.

Against Riverton, Price scored its only run of the game in the sixth inning in the 9-1 loss. After a leadoff double by JR Jensen in the sixth, Jaxson Carlisle singled home Jensen two batters later for the team’s only run. Zac Gibson, Remington Motte, Stetson Motte and Liam Bloomer each added a single in the game as well. Carlisle took the loss on the mound.

Douglas was able to beat the Raptors 19-3 in five innings. Gibson took the loss in the game, but also went 1-2 with a single. Gibson led off the fourth with his single and was followed by Remington Motte with another single. Both scored later in the inning, as did Carlisle, to round out the scoring for Price in the game. Stetson Motte and Mike Tallerico added singles in the game for four total team hits.

Steamboat was the other opponent for Price over the weekend. Steamboat scored four runs in the seventh to take the game 11-1. Stetson Motte scored his team’s only run after walking to begin the sixth. Tylane Sherman had a single in the inning. Carlisle and Remington Motte each bashed doubles, going 1-3, respectively. Bloomer led off the game with a single for his only hit in the game. Stetson Motte threw 79 pitches, taking the loss.

Price will host Salem Hills on Friday night at USU Eastern. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
