Recycling Efforts Take Center Stage at Creekview Elementary

Creekview Elementary Principal Thomas reported that students collected aluminum cans for two weeks spanning April 10-21.

The school conducted a contest between grade levels for the most cans collected. The fourth grade collected the most cans. Pictured are the fourth grade students and teachers; Hope Manzanares, Brenda Martinez and Shadayah Perry and Principal John Thomas with all the cans they collected.

The event was planned to culminate on April 21, the day before Earth Day. There are 480 students at Creekview and the majority of the cans were collected from their homes and neighborhoods The 87 fourth grade students were rewarded with a walk along the nearby Price River Walking Trail on April 28.

The Carbon County Green Team was contacted to take the cans to a recycling center.
