A Nielson Construction employee was struck and killed by a vehicle outside of Price on Highway 10 early Saturday morning.

Linda Potter, 55, Castle Dale, was working as a flagger for a road construction project when Luke Shroyer, 27, Nebraska, drove his vehicle into Potter, according to Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Todd Johnson.

Johnson said the impact threw Potter several feet in air. Johnson also said Shroyer failed to stop after the collision and continued southbound and into Emery County.

Emery County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended Shroyer in Huntington.

Shroyer was taken to the Emery County Jail where he will be charged with vehicular homicide, according to law enforcement sources.

Preliminary Sheriff’s reports indicate Shroyer was driving under the influence.
