A single-vehicle accident occurred near South East Early Intervention and the old K-Mart in Price around 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, resulting in a power outage.

According to early reports from Price City Police Captain Bill Barnes, the driver was speeding in the area, resulting in the rollover. The driver, identified as Kurt Killian from Elko, Nev,, needed to be extracted from the vehicle.

According to Barnes, the odor of alcohol was prominent at the scene, leading authorities to believe the driver was possibly under the influence. The driver was transported to the hospital where he was tested for suspected blood alcohol content and to be treated for injuries, including a possible neck fracture.

As a result of the accident, an electrical box was damaged, causing a power outage in the area. Rocky Mountain Power has been called to the scene to address the outage and work to restore power, which is expected to be out until 10 p.m. Thursday evening.

The driver of the accident will be released from the hospital and medically cleared to be booked into jail.
