Monday afternoon Timothy Lee Romano appeared before Judge George Harmond in Seventh District Court, and plead “no contest” to two charges of sexually abusing a child.

Romano plead “no contest” to two counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child, both first-degree felonies, in connection with one child.

“My client is aware of the evidence the state has against him and does not want to face the convition that evidence may produce,” said Romano’s attorney Sam Chiara.

Charges stem from incidents which occurred in Romano’s household with his wife, Amanda Romano, and roommate Tyler Barney, between January 2010 and August 2012. Currently investigators believe six children have been involved, one who lived in the Romano household has since been removed by DCFS.The trio was taken into custody in early November after sufficient evidence had been gathered.

“With your plea of ‘no contest’ you are facing a sentence of zero to five years in the Utah State Prison for each count against you, as well as fines up to $5,000 for each count,” said Judge Harmond.

Romano is scheduled for sentencing on March 18, 2013 at 12:15p.m.
