For more than a week, seniors at Carbon High had the opportunity to take the next big step in the education process. During College Application Week, which gives high school seniors the opportunity to apply for colleges, seniors were not only able to talk to representatives but apply for colleges within Utah that they want to attend following high school.

Many schools, including Dixie State, Snow College, Southern Utah University and Westminster, waived their application fees for students during the event.

On Tuesday, students were able to apply for USU Eastern and received scholarship opportunities that same evening if they delivered their transcript to the university. Wednesday brought many in-state colleges and seniors to the CHS gym to hurry and complete their applications.

Students also had the opportunity to be put in drawings for numerous prizes. After students were done applying, they also had the chance to put their name on a poster that will be displayed in the school’s counseling office for the remainder of the school year.

” We as counselors believe Utah College Application Week was a great success, it was a great benefit for students. Because some schools waived their application free. ”   expressed Carbon High School Counselor Melissa Swenson
