Carbon School District Press Release

Some people think that famous people have it made, with their wealth and notoriety. But they are people, just like other people. And sometimes their talents and abilities come about by a drive that cuts out part of their lives.
Marc Mero, the former WWE wrestling champion is coming to Price on Wednesday, March 30 to share his story of struggle with addiction and love with students. He will be presenting his message to students during the day at two assemblies and then will also hold a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Carbon High Auditorium.
As has been said to many, you don’t realize what you have until you have lost it. In Mero’s case his relationship with his mother was defining, but he didn’t realize it until it was too late. She supported him through his years of rebellion, despite the fact he would not give her the time of day much of the time.
“I slammed the door on the only person who believed in me,” he tells audiences in his presentation.
His inspirational message for the young, and for people across all age groups, is one everyone should hear. Mero’s enthusiasm is contagious as he empowers people to make positive choices and urges them to achieve their goals.
For those in his audiences who listen, he makes them laugh and he makes them cry. For students he tells them that they “are defined by their choices”  and that if they hang around with the wrong crowd their future will not be a good one.
“Show me your friends and I will show you your future,” he says.
He challenges students to make their life the best it can be and to think about what they are doing.
“It’s time to rise from the ashes,” he says. “Enough is enough…I want to make a difference at my school, in my home, and in my life.”
To get an idea of what he presents, and will be presenting to students from Carbon High, Helper Middle School, Lighthouse High School and Mont Harmon Middle School students and to the public on March 30 go tohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwqXzkf6gcE&authuser=0 and take a look.
