From the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources:

ABAJO MOUNTAINS: (April 09) Sergeant J. Shirley reports that fishing success is improving at Blanding #4. Anglers report the most success using rainbow PowerBait. Monticello Lake is ice-free, butВ fishing success is slow because of a probable winterkill. Fishing is slow at Lloyds Lake, however, anglers can drive to the water’s edge without getting stuck. Anglers have been able to launch boats on Recapture Reservoir, but we don’t have any reports on fishing success. Fishing success is excellent at Foy Reservoir. Anglers have done best with a silver or gold Jakes Spin-a-Lures, although other spinners have worked as well.

CARBON COUNTY COMMUNITY FISHING POND: (April 09) This community fishery has been stocked and anglers report good fishing success.

CLEVELAND RESERVOIR: (April 09) The ice is too thin to support anglers. There is a small amount of open water at the inflow, but the surface area of the open water is too small to fish from the shoreline.

ELECTRIC LAKE: (April 09) The lake is still covered in ice, but the ice is too thin to support anglers.

GIGLIOTTI POND: (April 09) We’ve receive reports from same anglers that fishing success is good, while others report slow fishing. Try using worms and PowerBait—chartreuse or rainbow PowerBait typically work well. If you’re using a lure, try a Jake’s Spin-A-Lure or Kastmaster.

HUNTINGTON GAME FARM POND: (April 09) The pond has thawed and the gate is open. The carry-over fish in the pond should offer good fishing success.

HUNTINGTON NORTH RESERVOIR: (April 09) In recent weeks, anglers have reported good fishing success just off the dam. Anglers are primarily catching rainbow and brown trout.

HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR: (April 09) The reservoir is still covered in ice, however, the ice is unstable and may not support the weight of an angler.

JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (April 09) The reservoir is ice-free and the boat ramp on the east side is open. Try using bait to target chubs or chub meat to target splake.

LA SAL MOUNTAINS: (March 27) Conservation Officer Tj Robertson indicates that the only accessible water has been Kens Lake, where fishing has been slow. The bait of choice is PowerBait in many different colors, but green or red seem to be the best. Nightcrawlers and salmon eggs have produced some fish as well. The water level has risen with spring-like temperatures and a good run-off.

MILLSITE RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: (April 09) Tom Ogden fished from a kick boat on March 29 using a size 6 soft hackle fly in tan, green and pearl color combination. Tom’s catch was 30 percent cutthroat trout and 70 percent rainbows trout. The reservoir is about 80 percent full and is rising slowly.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (April 09) The weather last week was windy and cold, so there hasn’t been any change in the ice conditions. On April 1, there was 10 to 20 feet of open water in the dam cove and on the extreme south end of the reservoir. One party of anglers caught six fish in 30 minutes near the boat ramp at the Mountain View unit. Bait anglers should try using dead redside shiner. Scofield Reservoir has special regulations.
