Spartans Dominate Rockwell, Clinch Spot in 2A Quarters *PHOTO GALLERY*

Five Emery Spartans scored in double figures in Emery’s 93-34 domination of Rockwell Saturday night in the first round of the 2A Playoffs at Orem High School.

Led by Zac Jorgensen’s 17 points, the Spartans left no doubt to those in attendance who 2A’s top team is. Easton Gordon poured in 15 points, and Koby Butler (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Keaton McDermott (14 points, 11 rebounds) each had double doubles. Kolton Butler had 12 points as well. He also had eight boards and three assists.

Emery shot 47.8% for the game and 18-21 from the charity stripe. The Spartans went 11-30 from the three-point line as well (35.5%).

The Spartans will play North Summit on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. North Summit beat Delta 70-44 to advance.
