After scoring the game’s first seven points, the Emery Spartans saw the Manti Templars rip off 35 unanswered to take the 35-14 victory a week before region play begins for both teams.
Rance Jensen hauled in a pass from quarterback Kyson Stilson that went 53 yards to pay dirt to take the early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Manti scored the next 35 points before Stilson and Easton Gordon hooked up late in the fourth quarter on an 84-yard strike to end the game’s scoring.
Emery (0-4, 0-0 3A North) will host Judge Memorial (2-2, 0-0 3A North) on Friday to kick off 3A North play. Judge upended North Sanpete 20-12 on Friday.
Judge Memorial won the last matchup with the Spartans, a 61-21 win on Oct. 9, 2014.
