The Emery High Spartans dusted off their jerseys and helmets Friday night for their annual Black and Gold game as the team started its 2016 football season.
Head Coach Jon Faimalo, who has taken the reigns of the team after former head coach Jim Jones left in the spring, has worked with the team for the past three years and remains hopeful of his team as he steps into the head coach position.
The team’s first official game will take place this Friday as the Spartans travel to Summit Academy. Kickoff is slated for seven that evening.
