Spartans Welcomed Home After Utah Dominates National Rodeo Finals

The Emery High Spartans traveled to Rock Springs, Wyo. July 12-18 to compete in the 2015 National High School Finals Rodeo.

Spartans Hayden and Hadley Cloward did well at the national competition, coming in third at 24.04 seconds in team roping. Hadley, a recent graduate of Emery High School, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma during the rodeo season.

Utah grabbed four first place finishes at the national competition. In tie-down roping, Colton Kofoed took first place at the event with a time of 7.92 seconds. Also bringing home a first place finish was Kaytlyn Miller in breakaway roping with a time of 2.01 seconds. Ryder Wright continued the Utah’s dominating stride with a first place finish in saddle bronc. Sidney Amos also grabbed first in girls cutting.

Following the rodeo, the Spartans were welcomed back to Emery County with an entourage of their supporters.
