Staying Hydrated is Important for All Ages

While the summer is steadily coming to a close, it remains important for those of all ages to stay hydrated each day. While water is important, there are also many foods that hold water and will help you meet your goal for daily hydration goals.
Some of these foods include watermelons, which are 92% water and a good source of potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C. Celery is 95% water, high in fiber and rich in minerals including potassium and vitamin K. Strawberries are 92% water and loaded with fiber and vitamin C. Cucumbers are 96% water and are very high in vitamin K, vitamin B6 and iron. Iceberg lettuce is also very hydrating as it contains 96% water.
It’s important to enjoy the summer and stay cool in the heat. Be sure you are meeting your hydration goals by drinking water and eating water-rich foods.
