Carbon County Commissioners honored Steve Jensen as the employee of the month Wednesday for the county..
According to Rose Barnes, human resources director for the county, Jensen has worked in the road shop as a mechanic since 2007.
Jensen’s supervisor took some time to explain his employee’s constant and dedicated service to the county. One event he emphasized happened just recently when a fuel pump went out on a county vehicle. With the needed part taking some time to be replaced, Jensen took it upon himself to remove the fuel pump out of his personal vehicle to keep the county’s running for the remainder of the week.
“That’s a fine example of an employee who’s not just here for the paycheck but who’s here to help make a difference in our county,” commissioner Jake Mellor concluded.
