The Artz Center, a recently debuted business, aims to bring fun and learning to Castle Country youth.

The center is owned by Jen Perkins, who also serves as the artistic director. Perkins, along with her husband and children, moved to Carbon County nearly one year ago. After spending some time in the area, Perkins took it upon herself to offer more opportunities for local children.

Now open for business, the center will play host to preschool classes in the morning while the afternoon will feature homeschool classes as well as art and singing lessons.

Preschool classes will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for children 2-3 years old and Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for those ages 3-4.

Homeschool classes will run from 1 to 3 p.m. and feature art and choir courses for participants. Additional singing classes, including vocal training, area also available for youth and adults alike.

Finally, art classes will take place on Monday and Friday evenings for beginner and intermediate artists.

In addition to classes, The Artz Center will host free play date activities throughout the remainder of the summer. These free activities will take place Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. before ending on August 17. The play dates boast daily crafts and activities while children have a chance to play and interact. Please note that a parent must be present to supervise their own children during these activities.
