DWR Press Release

Biologists with the Division of Wildlife Resources want your thoughts and ideas about managing deer in southeastern Utah.

Deer management plans for southeastern Utah will expire soon. Before revising the plans, the biologists want to hear from you. Even if you don’t hunt deer, almost everyone has a stake in how deer and other wildlife are managed. If you have comments, ideas or proposals, there are two ways to share them with a biologist:

The DWR will offer an open house in Price on Aug. 11. An open house will also be held in Castle Dale on Aug. 12. The open houses will be informal and unstructured. They’ll provide you with a chance to have an in-person conversation with the biologist who manages the deer herd that’s closest to your home.

Both open houses run from 6:30 – 8 p.m. You can arrive at any time and leave whenever you’d like.

In Price, the open house will be at the DWR office at 319 N. Carbonville Road. The open house in Castle Dale will be held at the courthouse at 75 E. Main.

If you can’t come to an open house, you can still share your ideas by emailing them to DWR Regional Wildlife Manager Guy Wallace at guywallace@utah.gov.

For more information, call the DWR office in Price at (435) 613-3700.
