Three Eagles Receive All-Region Honors

Three Utah State Eastern baseball players recently received All-Region XVIII honors at the 2018 Region XVIII Tournament in Twin Falls.

Sophomore first baseman Jarrett Hunt was named to the All-Region XVIII first team.

Hunt led the Eagles in batting average (.346) with 46 hits, 24 RBIs, and seven doubles. He was fourth in the Scenic West Athletic Conference in fielding percentage with .986 as well.

Sophomores Jarod Lessar and Jesse Rowley were both named to the All-Region XVIII second team.

Lessar, a BYU signee, pitched in a team high 66 innings and earned a team-high five wins in 2018. He threw 62 strikeouts and had an ERA of 5.18.

Rowley, a Cal-Bakersfield signee, played multiple positions for the Eagles in 2018, including third base and outfield. During his sophomore season, Rowley batted .331 with 53 hits, 30 runs, 34 RBIs, 13 doubles and six home runs.

This season USU Eastern baseball amassed a 22-27 overall record including wins over nationally ranked opponents.
