The Emery Spartans tried to make it two straight wins Friday night, but the visiting Morgan Trojans had other plans, taking the region matchup 47-27.

The Trojans took the 25-7 lead at the half and never looked back. Morgan has outscored the Spartans 199-65 dating back to 2013 when the two teams began 3A North play.

The Spartans got on the board for the first time with 19 seconds left in the first half as Kyson Stilson found Jared Snow in the endzone on a 15-yard pass play, to cut the Morgan lead to 19-7. The Trojans then scored 21 straight to essentially put the game away.

Emery (1-6, 1-2 3A North) will play at Union (4-3, 2-1 3A North) on Friday. Union beat Judge Memorial 53-24 on Friday night. The Emery/Union game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
