A truck hauling pigs recently on Highway 70 tragically caught fire beginning at the brakes and traveling to the tires before becoming fully ablaze. Those close to the vehicle as it was burning witnessed a big rig driver with an empty truck guiding the flaming truck to the side of the road.
The big rig driver, identified as Danny, then worked to help guide pigs onto his empty truck. Unfortunately, the pigs were frantic and panicking, resulting in a large number of them not surviving the incident. It is estimated that at least 50 pigs were lost due to the accidental fire.
Due to the help that the big rig driver gave, he was short on his route time and was in need of cleaning out his truck. Nearly $70 was collected for the driver to contribute to his needs and thank him for his time.
