Monroe Magnuson and Justin Truman both walked away with top honors at the Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Finals held Nov. 13 and 14 at the Salt Lake Equestrian Center in South Jordan.

Magnuson was selected as announcer of the year by the stock contractors. Magnuson announced 12 rodeos this past summer. The RMPRA stretches from Rigby, Idaho on the north to Pahrump, Nev. on the south. He began announcing in 2009 and enjoys following the circuit. He was presented a leather coat and will receive a buckle later. Magnuson and his wife Amber live in Castle Dale.

Truman roped and tied a calf with a time of 7.9 seconds to capture first place in tie down calf roping. He earned a saddle to be presented later. Truman and his wife Alyssa live in Huntington.

Austin Allred from Cleveland also competed in the finals. He went into the finals in third place but ended up riding the 2014 bucking bull of the year and was bucked off. This kept him out of the top 10.

RMPRA sponsors 40 rodeos a year.
