United Way of Eastern Utah is always ready to help the community and give back in any way that they can. Their annual Day of Caring is just one of the ways that they accomplish that goal.

The event takes place each September and is open to the community. Recently, the Utah Commission on Service & Volunteerism (UCSV) graciously awarded United Way of Eastern Utah with a $1,000.00 grant that will be put toward this year’s Day of Caring event.

UServe Utah and their 9/11 Day of Service project grants are aimed to support nonprofit organizations, such as United Way, in Utah. The purpose of this particular grant is to increase the amount of residents and volunteers that will serve in meaningful roles dedicated to addressing important needs in the communities that are found all across the state of Utah.

Cheryl Thayn, Executive Director of United Way of Eastern Utah, stated that it is because of the wonderful volunteers that can be found in our community that have participated in United Way’s Day of Caring so faithfully for the past six years that have not only made the event possible, but very successful.

“Thank you to UServe Utah and the commission for recognizing our hard work and thank you to all the Day of Caring Volunteers. Let’s make year 7 the best,” Thayn stated.
