Press Release

In late 2016, the Winter family was dealt a devastating blow with the untimely loss of their oldest son, 18-year-old Ethan. Recently, their youngest son, seven-year-old Eli, was diagnosed with a rare cancerous tumor, which required the removal of the lower lobe of his left lung. The family is now awaiting test results, which will determine what kind of follow-up care is needed. The surgery, rehabilitation, travel, lodging and other costs required to het Eli healthy again are extensive.

Join Emery County Search & Rescue as we give back to this family who have given so much to Emery County. A fundraiser for Eli will take place on Friday, April 13 at the Emery County Recreation Center in Castle Dale. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a spaghetti dinner donated by BK’s Stop-N-Shop for just $5 per person or $25 per person.

The event will also feature a live auction, silent auction and raffle. Items include guided hunts, guns, gift cards, tours and much more. Even if you are unable to attend the event, you can still purchase raffle tickets exclusively for the items listed on the pre-sale flyer. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. You can purchase tickets from any Emery County Search and Rescue member.

Games and auctions will begin around 6:00 p.m.
