ABAJO MOUNTAINS: Conservation Officer Dennis Shumway reported slow fishing. Generally, the ice is thin and unsafe. Recapture Reservoir is partially iced over, but the water level is very low.

CARBON COUNTY COMMUNITY FISHING POND: The ice is off the pond, but the pond has not been stocked. Conservation Officer J.D. Abbott reported slow fishing over the weekend.

CLEVELAND RESERVOIR: There have not been many anglers at the reservoir because of the long, snowy hike from State Road 31. The reservoir is still completely iced over.

ELECTRIC LAKE: The lake is still iced over and is covered with snow. There have not been many anglers at the lake.

GIGLIOTTI POND: The ice is off the pond, but there are no recent reports from anglers.

HUNTINGTON NORTH RESERVOIR: Conservation Officer James Thomas reports shrinking ice and a ring of open water along the reservoir’s edge. Casting distance may be limited in some areas from shore. The ice is no longer safe.

HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR: The ice is up to three feet thick in some areas, so anglers might need an auger extension. Snow and slush cover the ice, and the shoreline is still iced over. Anglers report slow fishing.

JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: Ice fishing is no longer safe because the ice is breaking up. There is open water along the reservoir’s edge, and anglers can now fish from the shoreline in some areas. Anglers report slow fishing from shore.

LA SAL MOUNTAINS: The ice is off at Ken’s Lake, and the water level is extremely low. Fishing at the lake has been slow, which may be in part due to dam construction last year. The mountain lakes are hard to access because of mud and snow.

LOWER FISH CREEK: There isn’t much water flowing through the creek, and some fish are trapped in pools.

MILLSITE RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: The ice fishing season is over at Millsite. Nearly all of the water is ice-free, and boats are able to launch. Anglers report fair fishing while trolling.

Tom Ogden fly fished from a kick boat last weekend and reported good fishing. In four hours, he caught three splake, two rainbow trout and one tiger trout. He used fast-sinking line and size four bead head crystal buggers in a variety of colors.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: Anglers report slow fishing at the mouth of the dam arm. Anglers are catching chubs throughout the reservoir, but mostly on the south and west sides. Most fish range from eight to 14 inches, and few of them exceed the slot. Fish are biting throughout the water column. Try using small, soft plastic jigs in chartreuse or white. If using bait, try chub meat, PowerBait, worms or mealworms.

There is open water on the north and south ends of the reservoir. In other areas, the ice is two to three feet thick. The perimeter of the reservoir is still iced over, so getting on or off the ice isn’t a problem.
