Wednesday evening was full of gratitude as council member Wayne Clausing bid farewell.

Clausing has been a dedicated member of the council for several years. Council members and patrons attending the meeting all expressed their thanks toward Wayne and his wife, Monica, for the time and effort they have put towards the community. Clausing and his wife are moving to Salt Lake City to manage the local Sutherlands store, which is also the main store in the Sutherlands chain. Wayne has left his mark on the community for the better and will be greatly missed.

Also discussed at the meeting was the new budget for fiscal year 2017-18. Price City Finance Director Lisa Richens discussed the changes made to the budget and what to expect in the coming year. A public hearing was held to discuss questions concerning changes in the budget.

The most notable change to the budget was a proposed transfer to the general fund of $2.5 million. The motion was carried to approve the new fiscal budget for the 2017-2018 year. Richens stated that the new budget will be watched closely for the first 90 days.
