Residents of Wellington City and other communities gathered to celebrate the annual 2017 Pioneer Days celebration throughout the weekend. As always, the festivities kicked off on Friday evening with a dinner with Mayor Joan Powell. The Grant Family Band also performed during this dinner, providing the patrons with entertainment.

The fun continued on Saturday morning, kicking off bright and early with a breakfast in the park. A parade then began at 10 a.m., featuring horses, local businesses and community youth. Vendors in the park, a horseshoe tournament and entertainment followed the parade and kept attendees busy and entertained.

The Pioneer Days Grand Marshalls were named as Bob and Mary Ann Branch, while the parade chairs were Rory and Sarah Bradley. The chairs for the horseshoe tournament were Chance and Janell Norton.
