After falling behind early in the game, the Carbon Dinos clawed their way back to take the lead at the end of the third quarter only to see the Richfield Wildcats score a couple of late buckets for the 52-51 win in Price on Wednesday.
Kyle Quinton led the Dinos with 12 points. Jamin Jensen and Chase Morgan each added 11 points and three combined three pointers.
Down 19-11 after the first quarter, Carbon outscored Richfield 23-14 over the second and third quarters to take a lead in the final period. The Wildcats got a late three and another timely three-point play to slip out of Price with a much-needed Region 12 win.
Carbon (9-8, 2-1 Region 12) will take on Juab (7-6, 0-2 Region 12) in Nephi on Friday. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 6 at 7 p.m.
