Wilstead, Tuttle Help Emery Finish Season Strong

A strong pitching performance and a grand slam in the seventh inning aided the Emery Spartans in their last game of the regular season. Emery walloped San Juan again, this time by a margin of 13-1.

The Spartans have been ranked number one all season, with strong pitching and hitting, the team is poised to make another run at the 2A championship as it did a season ago.

Ethan Tuttle hit a grand slam and Ridge Nielson recorded two base hits in the game against the Broncos. Dillon Willstead went the entire game on the mound and picked up his third win of the season.

Emery scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to run away with the game.

The Spartans outscored the Broncos 30-3 in two matchups this season.

Emery finished the regular season with a 15-3 overall record, including a 10-2 mark in Region 15 play.
