Emery High School senior Jesse Winn scored two touchdowns Friday to lead the Spartans in a 37-0 route of American Leadership Academy in Castle Dale.
The win moved Emery to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in 2A North Region Play.
Cory Cox, Jake Bell and Dominic Rondinelli also scored touchdowns for the Spartans.
Spartan head coach Jim Jones was pleased with his teams effort level, but said other aspects of the game left something to be desired.
“I don’t know if it was the field, but it felt like we were running in the mud a little bit,” Jones said. “We need to clean up all the penalties. We were not as crisp [as earlier in the season] tonight.”
Winn has scored five touchdowns in the past two games.
Emery continues region play at Millard on Friday at 7 p.m.
