ECSO Press Release

The Emery County Sheriff’s Office recently held a lockdown/evacuation exercise at Huntington Elementary.

Each school year, the ECSO Detective Division organizes a series of exercises that reaches every campus in the Emery School District. ECSO personnel visit each school prior to the exercise to meet with students and faculty. They explain what will be happening, show how they will be dressed, and stress the importance of the students taking the exercise seriously. Law enforcement personnel from various agencies are invited to participate.

With the nationwide trend of school violence, these exercises are vital to the safety of our children. ECSO expresses thanks to the Utah Highway Patrol and State for their continued support, and to the Emery School District for allowing law enforcement to train with the students and faculty.
