Young Athletes Gather for Price Insurance Junior Open

Young golfers gathered at the Carbon Country Club to take part in the Price Insurance Junior Open on Wednesday. Athletes from Carbon and Emery counties participated in the competition.

The highlight of the tournament was when Oakley Toomer sunk a hole-in-one on hole 17. Toomer also notched a first place finish in the flight for ages 13-14, carding a 82.

Also notching a first place finish in the tournament was Ryker Smith who shot 72 in the flight for ages 15-17. For ages 11-13, Cayden Steele took first with 108. In the girls flight, Syndee Guymon took first with 87. Cooper Nelson rounded out the first place finishes with 51 strokes in nine holes in the ages 8-10 category.
